Wow, what gorgeous weather we are having! The upturn in the weather is tempting us all outdoors and encouraging us to fire up the barbie. Burgers and sausages are the staple but there are many other types of meat which, with just a touch of TLC, can be transformed to enhance your outdoor cooking experience. Minimum effort is required to create a fabulous marinade which will help lift, tenderise and add depth of flavour to the meat.
You might think that traditional accompaniments to the BBQ are beer and wine, but I want to share a number of recipes that are extremely popular with the customers at The Old Rydon and should complement the meat and make a great addition to any BBQ.
The first recipe is a Red cabbage coleslaw which we normally serve with lunchtime baguettes. The second recipe is a multi-use satay sauce. The final one this week is a traditional white cabbage recipe is so simple and so tasty, once you have read and tasted my recipe you won’t go back to shop bought ever again.
